What I Do
I help storytellers and clients bring their visions to life by creating and realizing strong visual and spatial concepts.
I’m passionate about developing designs that strengthen characters, emotions and settings, making them believable, relatable and immersive to audiences.
As a Production Designer with a diploma in film and media as well as a master’s degree in architecture, I have extensive experience working in film, theater and architecture.
I believe that my greatest strength in both architecture and production design lies in the combination of two skillsets: that of an artist and that of a manager. One for creativity, imagination, atmosphere – and one for structure, clarity, and order. I enjoy the challenge of bringing order to creative chaos (whether it is my own or someone else‘s) and directing it into structured channels without stifling it. I am proficient with interdepartmental work to create and ensure an overall style and to meet functional, budgetary, and scheduling requirements.
Therefore, I always like to take on administrative and planning responsibilities in addition to creative design work. As an Art Department Allrounder, I love challenging, versatile tasks in an inspiring environment, collaborating with other creative professionals. Complex tasks that need an eye for the bigger picture and also for small details are my specialty – from first ideas to finishing touches.
For me the cherry on top of the cake is to have the opportunity every once in a while, to get to do manual prop or set work, like painting, modelmaking or creating special props.
I am skilled in a variety of 2D and 3D Design Software, as well as most crafting and set building materials, machines and techniques, and I always look to improve my skills and learn new ones.
